Just right after this video clip ends, the skier ditches their backpack, and the bear abandons the chase, snuffling all-around the pack alternatively. Snopes uses the video clip to remind viewers that even with what we sometimes listen to, bears can indeed run downhill. From Snopes:

If you are being chased by a bear, never operate downhill! Bears can operate as speedy as a horse (35 mph), and they can do it uphill, downhill, and every little thing in between. A bear can outrun you no make a difference what, so if you see one in the wild do not consider to run away from it. In its place, you should stand tall, wave your arms, and talk loudly but calmly. Back again away slowly, but prevent relocating if the bear follows you.
